Recently purchased some "licorice' plants. They appear to be low spreading plants, with light gray-green foliage, distinctly circular leaves about 3/4 of an inch in diameter. I don't know the genus or species, just "licorice" was on the tag. Most books I have consulted say licorice is an annual. However, as I am planting this in Hawaii, (Island of Molokai) which has a subtropical climate is it possible the plant will be a perenial here. It looks pretty vigorous and substantial to be an annual. Anyone know or care to venture a guess. Thanks a lot!

Hello Thomas,
My name is Gardengail and I work for The Home Depot in the garden center.
your plant is a subtropical shrub, so will do well all year long in Hawaii, it is an annual in the rest of the U.S.
Hope this helps,
Gardengail
